An ongoing relationship where an experienced advisor sits alongside you — as advisory board member or management advisor — for a set number of days each month.
Ad-hoc advice has a ceiling. By the time you’ve briefed someone on the situation, the moment has often passed. What most SME owners actually want is a senior person who knows the business, is in the room for the important conversations, and is reachable between them — without the cost or overhead of hiring a full-time executive. The gap between “occasional consultant” and “another salaried senior hire” is where the Trusted Advisor Programme sits.
Each engagement is anchored to a fixed number of days per month, ranging from half a day (TAP .5) through to two days (TAP 2), plus a formal Advisory Board option. The Associate — an ex-CEO, Managing Director, or Senior Partner who has run successful businesses locally and internationally — is embedded enough to know the business, attend the meetings that matter (sales, strategy, board, senior team), and be on the end of a call between them. Time is allocated at your discretion: chairing a monthly board, working with the sales team, walking through a strategic plan, or being available when a decision is urgent.
The Trusted Advisor Programme is designed to keep the company on track. Meetings you’d otherwise attend alone have a second experienced voice in them. The senior team has someone to test decisions with. You get the coordination and coherence of an executive team without adding another executive salary — and at a fraction of the cost of engaging a big-four firm project-by-project.
